Christmas is one of the most magical times of the years for so many reasons:
- Time with family
- Lights, decorations, and snow
- Christmas music
- Seeing the Joy in everything
- Wonder and joy in children's eyes
I reflect on the last year for our family and there is so much to be thankful for, but I am most thankful that I am able to spend the holidays with my family.
In February I lost my dad, who was sick with Kidney failure and several other health issues. He wanted so much to be able to travel to warmer weather during the winter, but he was confined to his movements due to Dialysis. He told me several times right before he passed that "He has so many things to do, but his time is spent tied to a machine."
After his passing, I realized that there are so many things that I too want to do in my life, and that each day is one less day to accomplish them. What was I waiting for? This was a defining moment for me to write my first Children's book. I hope everyone takes on each day with wanting to accomplish and enjoy everything to their fullest, including Christmas.
Today, as we sat and watched our children open their presents, had dinner with extended family, and truly enjoyed each others company in the moment, we knew how blessed we were for this moment.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas however you chose to celebrate. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
